Did you know...?

The Orangutan Protection Foundation supports the largest primate rescue and rehabilitation organisation in the world today operated by BOS Foundation.

The Foundation has nearly 4,000 orangutans under its protection. That equates to 10% of the world's remaining population.

It employs over 500 people at its projects in Central & East Kalimantan.

Nearly all of its employees are Indonesian, empowering local people to be a force for change.

Did you know....?

Orangutans demonstrate aptitude with tools.

Their colour renders them invisible when in the canopy.

Rambutans and durian are their favourite fruits!

Sponsor an Orangutan

You can sponsor Jumbo, Meryl, Cinta, Miko, Nita, Grendon, Kesi, Ruthie and Kopral and Shelton on their journey back to the wild as a gift for a friend or loved one.

The Orangutans on the OPF sponsorship programme, and over 800 more rescued orangutans, are looked after by the Borneo Orangutan Survival Foundation in Central (Nyaru Menteng) and East (Samboja Lestari) Kalimantan.

With your help, we can give these orangutans a future in the wild where they belong. Once you’ve made a donation, you or the recipient of your gift will receive an official personalised certificate, a background story and a beautiful colour photo of your orangutan. You will also receive updates at least twice a year and on the occasion we are sent some news from the field about their progress through Forest School.

There are options on the online form if you are an overseas visitor or wish to give a one-off donation for the annual contribution to their care and rehabilitation.

Thank you for helping protect our Orangutans - for all our futures!

Meet a few of the characters hoping you will follow them on their journey back to the trees!
